ABOUT

Julia Catlin, PhD

secure attachment builds healthy communities.

I am passionate about helping others create healthy, fulfilling relationships and helping one another at home and in the community.  That’s why I became a psychologist.  When we heal, we enhance our relationships with others, fostering love and support within our families and communities.  One person can have an impact on many, and everyone deserves to be supported, appreciated, and loved.

my story.

I am a classical singer, performing artist, and creative. I love spending time in art museums, cooking new foods, exploring and traveling, spending time in nature and with animals, and doing advocacy work.

I completed my doctoral internship in clinical psychology at Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program in Los Angeles, CA. Prior to that, I graduated with my master’s degree in mental health counseling and worked with children, teens, adults, and parents in community mental health agencies for the last decade. I completed my clinical practicum at a non-profit agency specializing in trauma treatment and assessment with children and military families.

After moving to Las Vegas, I completed my assessment practicum at a pediatric neuropsychology clinic specializing in assessment of autism spectrum disorders (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning and intellectual disabilities, and fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD).  I returned to a teaching/mentoring role when I became an approved clinical supervisor for graduate students in counseling, social work, and marriage and family therapy students and interns.

When I’m not seeing patients, you can find me singing, working out, training in aikido, knitting, drawing, hiking, running, spending time in nature, and enjoying time with loved ones.
